Auswest Timbers P/L is a wholly owned subsidiary of Brickworks Ltd, a publicly listed company employing approximately 1500 people and with annual revenue in excess of $500 million.
Brickworks Ltd is the parent company of a number of household brands operating in all Australian states, including Austral Bricks, Eureka Tiles, Bristile Roofing and Auswest Timbers.
Auswest Timbers Victorian business, which employs 60 people in East Gippsland, operates a primary processing plant at Orbost producing structural timbers, roof battens and feedstock for the secondary processing plant at Bairnsdale which produces
kiln dried hardwood flooring and appearance grade joinery products for the domestic and export markets.
Auswest Timbers P/L Victorian business has an annual sawlog entitlement of
approximately 46,000m3. These sawlogs comprising East Gippsland mixed species hardwoods are supplied from sustainably managed Victorian public native forest, both directly to the Orbost processing centre as well as indirectly through purchasing green sawn product from 4 other East Gippsland sawmills to supply the Bairnsdale processing centre.

Decking: available in Karri, Silvertop, Yellow Stringy and Mountain Gray Gum. Comes in three widths, with a pencil round profile. Available in various sizes to suit all architectural styles.
Scantling Green: made from a mix of durable Victorian hardwood species, this product can be cut to customer specification and is available in large dimensions.
Fence Screening: made from a mix of Cut-Tail, Silvertop and Messmate, this product is dressed all round to create a neat and attractive sharp appearance. Width and thickness - 63x30, length - 3.0 metres.
Flooring: comes in two grades - Chesnut (clear grade) and Wormy Chesnut (feature grade). Comes in 3 widths and 2 thicknesses, and is end matched for direct installation over joists. |
