VAFI is membership based with three classes of membership - Full Membership, Associate Membership and Affiliate, most are family companies.

Membership of VAFI must be approved by the Executive Committee. Full Membership is on the basis of an annual subscription, calculated on the volume of timber processed.

Full Members: Businesses carrying on sawmilling or processing of timber, kiln seasoning or independent logging operations in Victoria .

Associate Members: Firms, organisations or other unincorporated bodies involved in the forest industries.

Affiliate Members: Other sawmilling or logging associations.
